MISSION STATEMENT
The Harbor College architecture department is comitted
to the study of architecture through an understanding of
culture, the environment, and the ways in which they interact
The diverse faculty believes this will be accomplished through
a wide range of investigation, and therefore encourages students
to explore many classes including those in drafting, design,
computer programs, history, and visual communications.
The path of a design education is not limited to one route, but
rather a dynamic process that is interwoven with professionalism,
social awareness, environmental concerns, historic precedents,
and humanity, all of which are emphasized by the Harbor College
program.

Our students are not required to have an art or design background,
just a desire to learn from dedicated faculty memebers. In the true
spirit of a community college serving our neighbors, each student
who is interested in the study of architecture and design will
be given an opportunity to gain a quality education and training.
Our program is comprehensive, and in many ways equal to four-year
colleges and universities. Students, who complete the Harbor College
program, are ready and qualified to join the job market, or transfer to
many of the best architectural programs in the nation.
